Hey everyone!

I was recently invited as press/media to attend Curious2024, a fascinating conference dedicated to life sciences and biotechnology. This incredible event, initiated by Merck, takes place every two years and gathers brilliant minds and innovative companies from around the globe to discuss and showcase advancements in these fields.

About Curious2024
Curious2024, held at the Rheingoldhalle in Mainz, is an unparalleled event that brings together scientists, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders to explore the future of life sciences. The conference features a plethora of insightful talks, workshops, and exhibitions, creating an inspiring atmosphere for anyone passionate about biotech and innovation. For more detailed information, check out the official site here.

My Focus: The Startup Fair
One of the highlights of the conference for me was the startup fair. This year, 20 startups had their own booths, presenting groundbreaking ideas and technologies. Naturally, I was keen to interview some of these startups for my podcast, “Working with Startups From Science.”

Instead of the usual audio interviews, I decided to try something new. Armed with my Sony Alpha 6400, I ventured into the fair to capture spontaneous elevator pitches on video. And let me tell you, it was super cool! Many startups eagerly pitched their ideas on the spot, and I had the chance to ask a few additional questions. These life-science startups are actively seeking investors, making it beneficial to check out these videos.

Diving into Video Editing
Now, I’ve never edited videos before, but I’m diving into it! It’s very time-consuming but also a lot of fun. Today, I’m excited to release my first video—a vlog of my experience at Curious2024. Yes, it’s a bit shaky, but it gives you a real feel of the location and the vibrant atmosphere of the conference in Mainz.

In the coming days, I’ll be releasing new elevator pitch videos of the startups every few days. So, stay tuned and be patient!
